  Barrister trained but entirely untaught sculptor, who came under the patronage of Sir coutts Lindsayof the Grosvenor gallery and sir Edward Bhoem sculptor in ordinary to Queen Victoria. GEW executed some dozen or more royal statues 2 famous equestrian statues and many others; 4 winged figures for public memorials endless other works exhibeted annually in RA as well as Paris salon.
