Hugh Selwyn Fry was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, B.A. 1930, M.A. 1934; Chaplain, R.N.V.R., 1943-47; Chaplain, R.N., 1947-63. Chaplain of the cruiser Ceylon which, together with the Auxiliary Aircraft Carrier Unicorn, conveyed the first British troops (1 A&SH and 1 Middx. respectively) to land in Korea, at Pusan on 29 August, 1950. The Reverend Fry injured his leg in Korea. After retiring from the Royal Navy in 1963 he became Vicar of Stanford-in-the-Vale, Faringdon, Berkshire, and died in 1989.

Herbert married Margaret Elizabeth Selwyn in 1905 in Lichfield Cathedral, Lichfield, Staffordshire. Margaret (daughter of The Rt. Rev. John Richardson Selwyn and Clara Long Innes) was born in 1872 in Lichfield; died on 29 Jul 1930 in Stamford, Huntingdonshire, England. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
